Abstract Due to near netshape production, powder metallurgically manufactured (PM) gears have a high potential increase cost and resource efficiency. Compared conventionally machined gears, the advantages of PM are different local density distribution in component integration secondary design elements. These accompanied by reduction weight possibility optimizing NVH-behavior gear. may be both, die pressing additive manufacturing (AM). The bed-based processes for metals can classified into binder-based (e.g. Binder Jetting, BJT) beam-based thermal Laser Powder Bed Fusion, LPBF). specific process technology, is only economical large batch sizes series production. For small batches, AM offers an approach manufacture that meet requirements terms quality, strength, acoustics economic efficiency process. This report describes BJT made stainless steel 17-4PH (X5CrN-CuNb16-4) with relative ρ 0,rel ≈ 99% regarding tooth bending strength. reliability thus strength increased further adjustment parameters. Subsequently, tested regard on pulsator test rig. results summarized SN-curve.
